The year 2022 is the Year of Tiger on the Chinese lunar calendar and to get the ball rolling, the Shinan district – in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – has been extravagantly decorated in order to create a happy and vibrant festival mood ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 1.

The Spring Festival is seen as being a critical time for shop owners to bond with their customers and is part of the national cultural tide, given that it's the traditional season for people do Spring Festival shopping, to load up for the most important holiday in China.
