A technology and art exhibition in Qingdao has drawn visitors to learn about diverse and interesting perspectives, according to local media.

A local resident surnamed Li said she had never experienced a combination of science, technology and art. She was impressed by water ripples that mirrored her heartbeat at the exhibition.

The event, named Hyper Perspective, began on Oct 27 and will end on Dec 20 in Shinan district. The district is integrating digital technology into the fields of economics, politics, culture and environmental improvement.

Zhao Yan, Party secretary of Shinan, said from digitally cultural creativity to urban digital management, the district boosts modern services and develops new economic forms such as scientific and technological services and the digital economy.

Another recent art exhibition in the district, Muse, uses advanced digital technologies to display works of Dutch post-impressionist Vincent van Gogh, Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and French artist Henri Matisse, including "naked eye" 3D and 4K resolution.

Ma Xin, general manager of an aesthetic science and technology company in Qingdao, said: "Digital technology has entered people's lives and immersion digital images offer brand-new experiences that can be applied to more sectors."

Shinan district has also explored developing intelligent scenic areas and used robots to improve service in culture and tourism destinations.

Wang Hong, Party secretary of the district's culture and tourism bureau, said it actively takes new advantage of the digital economy and helps new industries and business models to arise.

The area also provides new engines for boosting the district's culture and tourism.

A quasi-man robot named Youyou attracts tourists via its adorable appearance and childlike voice in Zhanqiao Pier, an iconic scenic area in Qingdao.

It can raise and turn its head, shake hands, walk, sing and dance and also answer visitors' questions with humor.

An unmanned sanitation vehicle can also be seen at the area. It automatically cleans, waters and collects garbage on roads based on functions such as environmental perception and obstacle detection.

Shinan district also used digitalization to spur consumption and improve urban management. It has organized new-type activities such as brand livestreaming and virtual reality shopping to attract consumers since the beginning of this year.

Xing Haibing, a staff member at the public security office of Jinmenlu subdistrict, said information about nucleic acid testing can be immediately sent on a prevention and control cloud platform, which increases pandemic prevention and control efficiency and precision.

Building intelligent safety management communities and housing estates is among Shinan's items for serving residents for 2021. Its plans to build 1,075 such areas by the end of this year have already been completed.

A representative of Shinan's political and legal affairs commission said the integration of advanced technologies, such as big data, cloud computing and image recognition, into community governance makes the security management more effective and convenient.

An intelligent system involving license plate recognition, high-rise littering surveillance and fire alarming is being used in the Yizhong Gaoshan housing estate in Shinan.

Related equipment can stop strangers from getting in and out of the estate at will and brings a great sense of security, said a man surnamed Wang living in the estate.
