The European Beer Star competition has been held by the association Private Brauereien since 2004. Known as the "Oscars of Beer", the event is considered one of the most important beer competitions in the world.
More than 120 international beer experts including brew masters, trade journalists and beer sommeliers took part in the two-day blind assessment.
This win at the competition is an affirmation of Tsingtao's scientific and technological research and development ability, said industry insiders.

"The Tsingtao alcohol-free beer is mainly aimed at beer lovers who wish to control their alcohol intake but are discerning about taste and health," said Xing Lei, a technician from Tsingtao Brewery.
At present, the Tsingtao alcohol-free beer is exported to nearly 30 countries including the UK, France, Australia, Russia, South Korea and Singapore. The gold award is the best proof of its quality, added Xing.
