The 2021 Qingdao International Art Exhibition kicked off on Nov 2 at the Qingdao Art Museum. A host of activities will take place during the event, which is designed to present a comprehensive display of culture and art from around the globe.

Works created by artists from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative as well as original artworks produced by Qingdao artists will be highlighted at the event.

The Asian, African and Mediterranean International Art Exhibition, a main part of the Qingdao International Art Exhibition, will be held until Nov 12. This exhibition displays works by 82 representative artists from 52 countries, including Italy, Russia, the United States, Canada, Spain, and Portugal.

The "Inside and Outside the Island" exhibition, which will run until Nov 12, highlights artworks produced by local artists and art colleges as well as Qingdao-born artists.

Qingdao Voice marks the first time that music creation is included in the art experiment in Qingdao. Nineteen Qingdao musicians will improvise on the spot and create music themed on "mountain, sea, city and people".

Other themed activities and exhibitions will also be held at the Qingdao Art Museum. There will also be a variety of interactive exchanges for the public, such as artist narrations, guided tours and art salons.
