Qingdao Film and Television Expo to open in Oct
The 2021 Qingdao Film and Television Expo will be held in the Qingdao West Coast New Area from Oct 15 to 17, according to a recent news conference.

Officials, experts and entrepreneurs from across the country will attend the expo via online and offline channels and share their insights into the high-quality development of China's film and television industry.
The event will feature 19 activities including an opening ceremony, forums, film promotions, training and exhibitions.
An array of activities will take place to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Featuring Chinese revolutionary war stories and depicting a variety of Communist Party members, an array of "Red films and TV series" will be on display. Expert seminars on film creation and TV series production will also be held.

Cutting-edge technologies applied to the film and television industry will be a highlight at the expo, which will display a larger number of 5G equipment and offer immersive virtual experiences for visitors.
"High- and new-tech video", which offers higher-level formats, brand-new scenarios and a better audiovisual experience, will be promoted during the expo. Seminars, project-matchmakings and exhibitions related to this will also be held.
The expo is designed as a platform for the exchange of film and television technology, creativity and production. It will also contribute to the strengthening of the filmmaking industry in the Qingdao West Coast New Area, said local officials.

The area boasts a large pool of talent and is home to world-class film and television facilities, including the Oriental Movie Metropolis, the largest film-studio complex in the world, and the Lingshan Bay Film and Television Culture Industry Area, which covers an area of 44.6 square kilometers and is one of the largest and busiest film production centers in China.
As of September 2021, there were more than 4,000 registered film and television enterprises and supporting companies in the area.
