The launch of a book called Zhongshan Road Image – a work which contains pages of photographs portraying the development, evolution and renewal of Zhongshan Road – was held on June 16 in the Shinan district of Qingdao city, in East China's Shandong province.

The district is accelerating restoration work on Zhongshan Road, the century-old business precinct established in 1897 and known as the center of the city.

It is also pushing the revitalization of leading and established commercial brands there, in an effort to attract world-renowned brands and develop its fashion industry.

As the main block of the old city, Zhongshan Road is known as the "mother street" of Qingdao. For the older generations of locals, it has long been known for being the center of the city's fashion industry. [Photo/WeChat account: qdweishinan]
