Qingdao half marathon draws over 8,000 participants
The Qingdao West Coast New Area Half Marathon kicked off on April 18 in West Coast New Area of Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province. More than 8,000 running enthusiasts took part in the event.
Wang Peilin, a student from China University of Petroleum, won the men's half marathon with a time of 01:08:11, while Xing Zijun from Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities won the women's half marathon with a time of 01:22:03.
The running route passed through the core areas of the tourism zones in the West Coast New Area, presenting runners some of the area's most picturesque coastal views.
There was also a 5-kilometer mini-marathon which drew many families.
