The Jiaozhou Hospital affiliated with Tongji University, the only 3A-grade hospital in the county level city of Jiaozhou, administered by Qingdao, Shandong province, will open its doors for business in June this year, local media reported.

The hospital occupies a 6.61-hectare site and is expected to have a total of 1,000 beds, serving Jiaozhou and its surrounding areas.

It will focus on the construction of four major clinical medical centers focusing on cardiovascular treatment, emergency and severe disease treatment, precision tumor treatment and digestive disease treatment.

The hospital will establish a national training base for general medicine. It will set up academician workstations, foster a number of key disciplinary clusters and construct a municipal stem cell translational medicine center.
