The three-day Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province concluded on Nov 15.

According to statistics from the organizing committee, the event attracted more than 60,000 visitors to the Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center, which had six special exhibition areas displaying gourmet food, specialties and the unique cultures of Macao and other Portuguese-speaking regions.

An array of activities, including a flash mob, cultural performances, project matchmakings and business promotions, took place during the event.

More than 20 cooperation agreements were signed during the event which sought to promote economic ties and cultural tourism exchanges between Qingdao and Macao. The agreements are worth more than 200 million yuan ($30.46 million) in investments.

According to an official from the Macao Special Administrative Region, the event, which was held as scheduled, highlights the confidence of both sides to jointly promote trade and economic exchanges, share market opportunities and boost domestic demand.

"Qingdao is an important national coastal central city and a coastal tourist resort renowned both at home and abroad. In recent years, Qingdao has developed into a bellwether for the modern marine industry in the Bohai Economic Circle," he said, adding that as the world tourism and leisure center and the central city of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Macao enjoys unique development advantages and broad market cooperation opportunities with Qingdao.

 "I believe that this event will increase understanding and promote friendship and cooperation for both sides."
