The coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province held an online event to celebrate 2020 China Brand Day on May 10.

The event features an online brands expo that highlights 16 famous Qingdao-based companies, including home appliance giants Haier and Hisense, Chinese beer brewer Tsingtao, refrigerator brand Aucma, Doublestar Group and Jifa Group.

Through the event, customers can learn about each company's history and latest products, which can purchased online as well.

The event also features livestreaming sales, with the chairmen and senior managers from each company promoting their products.

Officials from the municipal development and reform commission said that the event will boost the growth of local brands, deepen brand awareness and encourage companies to uphold the spirit of professionalism and craftsmanship.

The event will also raise the quality and influence of Chinese products and services, and is an important aspect of implementing the strategy of expanding domestic demand and promoting high-quality development.

China Brand Day, which falls on May 10 every year, was approved by the State Council in late April 2017.
