Seafood preservation method
A seafood preservation method was listed as an intangible cultural heritage in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province in 2017 and won a municipal title in 2018.
The method was invented and developed by coastal fishermen several hundred years ago. According to the existing newspapers of the Republic Period, the method had been well-known in the city in the late 1920s.
Zhang Shuyu, an officially recognized practitioner of the method, is dedicated to its research and development. Zhang's signature shredded weever has gained immense popularity in the province.
