Qingdao offers chartered buses to transport migrant workers
Qingdao Jowin Group, Qingdao's major bus operator, has been offering chartered bus services to help migrant workers return to work in Qingdao, Shandong province since Feb 9.
According to the company, it was among the first in the country to offer the service and has transported over 10,000 migrant workers on nearly 500 trips back to their jobs at local enterprises such as Haier Group, China State Shipbuilding Co, Qingte Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and more.

The chartered buses have travelled to more than 70 prefecture-level cities and over 200 county-level cities around the country, going as far as Dali, Southwest China's Yunnan province.
"The chartered bus service provides a safe and efficient way for migrant workers to return to work during the epidemic prevention and control period," said a manager from Haier Group.
"It has helped alleviate the labor shortage problem as work resumes."

The chartered buses can only operate at half their carrying capacity if they are traveling to regions with high or medium-level risk for the novel coronavirus transmission, said a staff member of Jowin Group.
All chartered buses travel directly to and from their destinations, and nobody is allowed to board en route.
Strict disease prevention measures have also been taken to ensure the safety and health of migrant workers, said Jowin Group.
The company has also launched commuting bus services to local enterprises as well as other special transportation services for different customers.
