From Aug 28 to 30, Linyi in East China's Shandong province will host the 2026 third Linyi Stir-Fried Chicken Culinary Festival, along with a food week. This vibrant event, timed to coincide with the ongoing 26th Shandong Province Sports Games, aims to showcase the city's signature cuisine and boost cultural tourism.

The three-day extravaganza will feature live cooking battles with dozens of large woks firing up simultaneously. Master chefs from renowned local restaurants, including inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage of Linyi stir-fried chicken, will demonstrate their traditional techniques, creating an irresistible aroma that fills the streets.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste authentic flavors and vote for their favorite dish. Beyond the sizzling woks, the event features live music performances, interactive activities, and a regional food market, offering a treasure trove of local snacks, cultural crafts, and specialty goods from across the region.

Organized by multiple municipal departments, the festival represents a strategic effort to merge sports, tourism, and food, leveraging the provincial games to boost cultural consumption and regional brand recognition. It offers athletes, officials, and visitors a flavorful opportunity to experience the warmth and culinary depth of Linyi.
