A customized Shandong China-Europe Railway Express train carrying construction machinery made by Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery Co Ltd (SDLG) departed from Zhubao Station in Linyi on June 29, opening a faster logistics route for local equipment exports.
Carrying wheel loaders, road rollers and other machinery, the train is transporting goods worth about 19 million yuan ($2.8 million) and is expected to arrive in Moscow in 15 days. It is the first customized train launched by Shandong China-Europe Railway Express for SDLG.
Large construction machinery has long faced logistical challenges, including long shipping cycles, unstable schedules and high costs. Zhang Jinxiang, assistant to the general manager of SDLG, said Shandong Hi-Speed Group developed a scheduled train plan based on the company's export needs, enabling direct departure from Linyi with more reliable delivery.
Compared with sea transport, the train cuts delivery time almost in half and gives large equipment exporters a more stable international logistics option. Linyi Customs also supported the shipment through a railway fast-clearance model.
Customs official Yu Lei said the model enables "one declaration and full-route release", reducing overall train operation time by about two days.
Since 2018, Shandong China-Europe Railway Express has operated more than 2,300 trains in the Linyi area, serving over 1,500 local foreign trade enterprises.
