Linyi is building momentum toward a major new-energy commercial vehicle production and application base in Shandong province, backed by a complete industrial chain, logistics demand and growth targets.
As a strategic emerging industry, the sector has been included in Linyi's 13 landmark industrial chains, with a dedicated task force coordinating planning and implementation. The city now has 72 new-energy commercial vehicle enterprises above designated size, including two complete vehicle makers, 15 trailer manufacturers and 55 supporting companies.
In 2025, the industrial chain generated 17.4 billion yuan ($2.56 billion) in output value, up 27.9 percent year-on-year, ranking first among the city's 13 industrial chains. Output reached 7.76 billion yuan in the first five months of this year, up 16.3 percent.
Linyi's industrial foundation covers raw materials, components and vehicle manufacturing. More than 50 key component companies cover body, electronics, chassis and electric drive systems.
Shandong Reach Electric Vehicle Co Ltd has an annual production capacity of 50,000 commercial vehicles and is competitive in light and micro trucks. DeepWay, a smart new-energy heavy-truck maker, saw production and sales exceed 5,000 units in 2025 after its first heavy truck rolled off the line in Linyi in December 2024.
The city's logistics market provides broad application scenarios, from wholesale markets and e-commerce parks to trunk logistics, bulk cargo transport, urban distribution, sanitation and cold-chain services.
In 2026, Linyi aims to exceed 20 billion yuan in output value and reach 24,000 units in production and sales.
