The 2026 China (Shandong)-Malaysia Brands Exhibition & Trade Fair wrapped up on May 24 at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya, Malaysia, marking a significant expansion of trade ties between China and Southeast Asia.

The three-day event attracted more than 5,000 in-person buyers from across ASEAN, as well as international procurement delegates from countries including the United States and Italy. With over 160 exhibitors, the expo generated 60 million yuan ($8.8 million) in on-site transactions and more than 100 million yuan in intended trade volume.

The expo featured various zones, from food and hospitality to automotive supplies and hardware. By combining digital and physical platforms, it offered a strong setting for business matching, project inspections, and cultural exchanges. The significance of this event was underscored by the presence of government officials from both countries and over 30 chambers of commerce.

Building on the success of its first edition, this year's expo featured improved operations and targeted services, enabling Shandong enterprises to strengthen their presence in Malaysia and the broader ASEAN market. This strategic platform not only facilitated seamless industry value chain integration but also added fresh momentum to the high-quality development of cross-border economic cooperation between Shandong and its international partners.
