Geography
Jinxiang county is in the southwest of Shandong province and borders on Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan and Anhui provinces. The northern part is Taishan Mountain.
Ridong (Rizhao-Dongming), Jihe (Jinan-Heze), and Jixu (Jinan-Xuzhou) expressways pass through the county. The Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway runs adjacent to the county. National Road 105 runs from north to south through the county, and is only 20 km from Jining Qufu Airport.

The county governs nine towns, four subdistricts, and one provincial development zone.
Economy
In 2022, the county's GDP reached 25.94 billion yuan($3.75 billion). The per capita disposable income for urban residents was 39,325 yuan, while that of rural residents was 23,079 yuan.
