As summer deepens and the days grow long, Chengwu county in Heze, Shandong province, reveals a landscape painted in three very different palettes. Scattered across its countryside are three distinct floral destinations — each offering its own mood, its own color story and its own reason to visit.
Step away from the noise of the modern world and into Dangji, an ancient village tucked into the Chengwu countryside. Here, flowers spill over stone paths and climb weathered walls in cascading layers of white, blush pink and soft violet.

Not far from the village, a dramatic change in mood takes place. In the Gaoding rural vitalization zone, the sunflowers have reached peak bloom, transforming the farmland into an ocean of light. Row after row of tall, vigorous plants stand at attention, their heavy heads turned toward the sun.
