A smart heavy-duty truck battery-swapping station has officially begun operation in Dawang town, Dongying, marking a major upgrade for green logistics in the region.

At the station, electric trucks drive in, and a fully automated system swaps out their battery in about five minutes, allowing vehicles to return to the road fully charged without long waiting times. Drivers report this process replaces over an hour of traditional charging time and eliminates queue delays, significantly boosting daily transport efficiency on busy routes to Qingdao Port.
The site is located in a major industrial hub that hosts nearly 80 large enterprises and more than 2,000 heavy trucks operating daily. With Qingdao Port 250 kilometers away, reliable mid-route energy replenishment is essential, and the new station fixes this bottleneck.
Equipped with eight swapping bays and a smart energy storage system, it can serve over 100 trucks per day and is compatible with more than 95 percent of mainstream electric heavy-duty models.

By ending diesel consumption, the project not only lowers operating costs per kilometer but also cuts carbon emissions at scale — advancing the region's transition toward a low-carbon, high-efficiency freight system.
