The "Blooming Jinan" series of international communication events commenced in Jinan, Shandong province on July 26.

During the event, the international communication centers of 10 provinces and cities in China established an international communication association to create a shared community for the advancement of the country's international communication.

Dai Longcheng, director of Jinan's publicity department, said that Jinan has a long history, diverse culture and beautiful environment. He believes that Jinan's communication should focus on equality, popularization and emotional connections.

"The Jinan International Communication Center (JICC) should use technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence to analyze the characteristics, preferences and needs of audiences from different countries and push communication content in a targeted manner," Dai said.

Yu Yunquan, president of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies at China International Communications Group, said in a video speech that localities play an important role in the new pattern of international communication and are an indispensable force.

"The institute is willing to work together with the Jinan International Communication Center to tell China's story well and create a trustworthy, lovable and respectable image of the country," he added.

Dean Gorden Munk, a Canadian who has been living in Jinan for six years, said that he has experienced authentic rural life here and gained a deep understanding of the city's historical culture and changes over the past year. "I think being a 'Jinan Recommender' is not just a title or honor, but also a responsibility."

During the event, the JICC and Shandong University launched a cultivation base for postgraduates with the aim of empowering international communication through the integration of industry and education.
