Chen Fei, deputy to the third session of the 13th National People's Congress and mayor of Yantai, Shandong province proposed during the congress that the city will make more efforts to help promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19.

He added that the local government will strengthen the supervision of the implementation of financial policies and increase targeted financial support policies for small, medium and micro enterprises to help them overcome difficulties.

Chen also suggested that education and human resources departments attach great importance to the employment of college graduates who have been affected by the pandemic.

More preferential policies will be released to promote consumption and further boost the catering, shopping and tourism industries.

The third session of the 13th NPC opened at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on May 22 and will be conclude on May 28.
