A report on public security conditions in Chinese cities in 2019 was recently issued.

Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, was among the top 10 cities in the nation in terms of overall social order and ranked fifth in traffic security, which has been an area of focus for the city in recent years.

According to Wang Yibao, a professor who helped compile the report, the report has played an important role in measuring urban public security conditions and assessing local government's work on urban public security management.

The nine indexes included in the report were nature, ecology, public health, food, traffic, information, public facilities, social order, and social insurance.

The report was jointly announced by China University of Mining and Technology, the China Society of Emergency Management, and Social Sciences Academic Press.
