Vladimir Terzija, a British guest professor at Shandong University, was awarded as an honorary Shandong citizen by the provincial government in September due to his continued dedication to electrical engineering research in the province.

Before taking his current job at the School of Electrical Engineering at Shandong University in 2012, Terzija worked as a chief professor of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council at the University of Manchester.

He currently instructs new teachers and postgraduate students in scientific research and helps promote international academic exchanges.

With his help, the university has been able to publish more than 20 papers in world-leading journals, including one entitled “IEEE Transactions on Power Systems”. He also invited more than 30 top scholars from the United States and Canada to attend academic seminars held by the university.

Terzija has played a leading role in several national-level research projects and his research findings on wide-area protection and control systems have been applied in China’s power grid.
