A group of more than 20 foreign journalists attended a Lyu Opera performance, one of China's eight major operas, as well as several traditional Chinese instrument performances at Jinan Lyu Opera Theatre on Sept 11.

To allow them to more fully experience the ancient art form, the expats also had the chance to dress up in costumes, try on accessories and face masks, and even test out their acting chops in a number of different opera scenes.
